Quick answer: A mushroom spore variety pack lets you choose every strain in a set of spore syringes, at a lower price per syringe than buying them one at a time. We sell three sizes: the 3-piece and 5-piece packs suit a first comparison set, and the 10-piece pack suits a broader reference collection at $12 a syringe.
Every syringe in a pack is the same 10 cc syringe that we sell on its own, and each one comes with a sterile needle and an alcohol pad.

What a mushroom spore variety pack is
A variety pack is a fixed number of spore syringes in which you choose every strain. We sell three sizes, with 3, 5 or 10 syringes. On every pack page you choose your strains below the pack description, and you can repeat a strain if you want more than one of it.
The syringes themselves are the same ones we sell individually. Each is a 10 cc syringe filled in our ISO-7 cleanroom, and each comes with a sterile needle and an alcohol pad. Our 30-day warranty applies, and every pack page states that it covers the whole pack. If you are new to the format, our guide to what a spore syringe is explains what is inside one.
Pack sizes, prices and cost per syringe
| Pack | Listed price (as of October 2026) | Cost per syringe |
|---|---|---|
| 3-Piece Variety Pack | $44.99 | $15.00 |
| 5-Piece Variety Pack | $69.99 | $14.00 |
| 10-Piece Variety Pack | $119.99 | $12.00 |
These are the prices listed on each pack’s page on October 17, 2026, and they can change. For comparison, the pack pages give $19.99 as the price of a single syringe bought on its own, and the 10-piece pack has the lowest cost per syringe of the three.
Shipping is free on orders over $100. The 10-piece pack is $119.99, so it ships free on its own. The 5-piece pack is $69.99, so add two more syringes and that order ships free too.
Variety pack or single syringes
Single syringes are $19.99 each. Our 3-piece pack brings that to $15.00 per syringe, the 5-piece pack to $14.00 and the 10-piece pack to $12.00.
If you only want one or two strains, single syringes are the better fit. If you want three or more, a pack is simpler to order and costs less per syringe.
How to choose a mushroom spore variety pack
The right size depends on how many strains you want to compare side by side.
- The 5-piece pack works well as a first comparison set. Five strains are enough to see the main differences within cubensis: a standard pigmented strain, a mutant form with few spores, a pale strain with dark spores and an albino strain with pale spores. Our guide to the best spore syringes for beginners suggests five classic strains to start with.
- The 10-piece pack suits a broader reference collection. Ten slots leave room for a whole family of related strains alongside the classics, or for a set of strains named after the places they are said to come from.
If you need more than ten syringes, for a class or a shared collection, you can add more than one pack to the same order.
Variety pack or Beginner’s Starter Kit
The Beginner’s Starter Kit is the 5-piece option with the choices made for you. It contains Golden Teacher, Blue Meanie, Jedi Mind Fuck, Penis Envy and Leucistic A+ syringes, each with a sterile needle and an alcohol pad, plus our Sanitary Kit: a pair of nitrile gloves, a surgical face mask and three alcohol pads. Choose the kit if you want a ready-made set of classic strains and the extra supplies. Choose the 5-piece pack if you already know which five strains you want.
Ideas for filling a pack
A pack is most useful when the strains in it answer a question. These groupings work well.
- Pigment from dark to pale. Golden Teacher has fully pigmented spores. Leucistic A+ is a pale mushroom whose spores are still dark. Albino Penis Envy and Jack Frost are albino lines whose spores carry little pigment. Our guide to albino vs leucistic mushrooms explains why the difference shows up on a slide.
- The Penis Envy family. Penis Envy, Albino Penis Envy, TW/APE (Tidal Wave crossed with APE) and Albino Bluey Vuitton all have Penis Envy in their reported background. Our Penis Envy guide covers the parent strain.
- Strains named for places. Amazonian, Ecuadorian and PES Hawaiian carry place names, which makes them a natural set to compare against the classics.
- Our most ordered strains. Our list of the most popular cubensis strains of 2026 ranks the strains our customers buy most, which is an easy way to fill a 10-piece pack.
The full strains list describes every strain we carry, and our Golden Teacher guide is a good place to start if you want the reference strain first.
Storing the syringes in a pack
Store spore syringes in the refrigerator, where they keep for up to 90 days. With a 10-piece pack, plan to work through the collection within that window. Our guide to how long spore syringes last covers storage in more detail.
Shipping and legal status
Orders placed by 1 p.m. Eastern on a business day ship the same day. We ship to 46 states and do not ship to California, Florida, Georgia or Idaho, and you must be 18 or older to order. Spores contain no psilocybin or psilocin, but laws change, so check the current law in your state; our state-by-state legal guide covers all 50. Our shipping and returns page covers returns.
Frequently asked questions
What is a mushroom spore variety pack?
It is a set of 3, 5 or 10 spore syringes in which you choose every strain. Each syringe is the same 10 cc syringe that we sell on its own.
Can I pick the same strain more than once?
Yes. The 3-, 5- and 10-piece pack pages all say repeats are fine, so you can fill a pack with several syringes of one strain.
Which variety pack has the lowest price per syringe?
As of October 2026, the 10-piece pack works out to $12 per syringe, compared with $14 for the 5-piece pack and $15 for the 3-piece pack.
Is there a 3-syringe variety pack?
Yes. Our 3-Piece Variety Pack is $44.99, or $15.00 a syringe, and you choose all three strains.
Does a variety pack ship free?
The 10-piece pack does. Shipping is free on orders over $100, and the 10-piece pack is $119.99. The 5-piece pack is $69.99, so add two more syringes and it ships free.
Do variety packs come with needles?
Yes. Each syringe comes with a sterile needle and an alcohol pad.
How long do the syringes in a variety pack last?
Stored in the refrigerator, they keep for up to 90 days. Plan the size of your pack around that.
Is the Beginner’s Starter Kit a variety pack?
It is a fixed set of five strains rather than a pick-any pack, and it adds a Sanitary Kit with nitrile gloves, a face mask and alcohol pads.
